The commitment of Rio Tinto along with other community partners to ongoing support White Ribbon Day and Nintirri’s Family and Domestic Violence Service plays a vital role in keeping victims and their families safe. It is encouraging to have Rio Tinto actively contributing to the wellbeing of our small towns. It is the involvement of guest speakers and the sharing of personal stories which so strongly emphasise the impact of events such as White Ribbon Day. These included (seen in photo below): Tim McInnes - MC Andrea Musulin - WA Child Protection Society Chris Clelland - WA Police Force Tom Price Mark Olsen - Rio Tinto Kalor Walker - Mission Australia Peter Foster MLC – Member for Mining and Pastoral Region What is it that we can do to change the narrative of Family and Domestic Violence? Instead of β€œwhy doesn’t she leave?” we need to ask β€œwhy doesn’t he stop?” as this ultimately shapes the way we support those we may know going through it. Highlighting the collaborative efforts it takes to make events such as White Ribbon Day a success we would also like thank Sodexo for their catering and all the attendants for joining us.
