Early Years Care and Education

Welcome to Little Geckos, a community based not for profit childcare centre who are passionate about the community and its children. We are located in the heart of Tom Price and the only childcare centre in town. We offer long day care, afterschool, vacation care & school readiness program for children aged between 3 months to 12 years.

At Little Geckos, our Educators aim to engage your child in a lifelong love of learning. We embrace sensory rich activities, play-based learning and community excursions and programmes that offer a range of fun, diverse learning experiences.

We believe each child is a unique individual with their own needs, interests, abilities and background. Our centre will work alongside families and children to provide quality care. Our team value partnerships with families and strive towards creating a welcoming environment for children, parents, and the wider community.

Our long day-care centre is licensed for 43 places which consist of; 25 Kindy aged children, 10 toddlers and 8 babies.

Opening Hours

Little Geckos: Monday – Friday from 7.30am – 5.00pm, excluding public holidays.

Afterschool care: Monday – Friday 2.00pm – 5.00pm, excluding public holidays and school holidays.

Vacation Care:  Monday – Friday 7.30am – 5.00pm, school holidays only, excluding public holidays

School Readiness: Wednesdays 9.30am – 1.15pm, school term only.

Fees

January – December 2021

Long day care $ 120.00

After school care $ 44.00

Vacation Care $ 85.00

School Readiness Programme $ 45.00 per session / charged by term.

After School Hours Care is a program offering 20 places, after school collection from both North Tom Price Primary School and Tom Price Primary School to The Nintirri Centre for activities, play and homework. A Vacation Care service is also offered in school holidays to keep your school aged children active and safe in a social environment offering a range of fun activities. 

We also offer a 19 place transition to school program for three year olds based at North Tom Price Primary School. The program aims to help the children and families feel more comfortable in the school environment and get school ready for the following year.

What is My Family Lounge?

Our service uses an online booking and waitlist management program called QK Enrol. This will give you access to manage your own account information, where you will have the ability to make bookings requests and allow you to complete and submit an online enrolment form for your child. You will have the flexibility of doing this and much, much more all within a parent portal called ’My Family Lounge’.

Your My Family Lounge log in details will travel with you for life as you move childcare services that are subscribed to QK Enrol. You are able to log in anywhere, anytime as long as you have access to the internet. We are thrilled to be able to provide you with an easier and more efficient way of managing your child’s bookings at our service.
