My Bloody Awesome Journal Project

The Tom Price Arts hub and the Nintirri Centre are extremely proud and positive about their upcomming and future collaborations with The Junction Co and the Pilbara arts network. Our very own Nell Harris from Salty Sea Art recently contributed a natural dying workshop to a 8 part series of online journal workshops designed to engage youth, an excellent initiative during times of self isolation.

About the project

Teenagers, young and old, are invited to create their own bloody awesome journal, alongside some of the Pilbara’s most creative artists and facilitators!

My Bloody Awesome Journal project seeks to engage, grow and empower Pilbara youth through weekly creative projects which stimulate deeper thinking around their family, friends and community.

Supported by agencies across the Pilbara, including the Town of Port Hedland, Tom Price’s Nintirri Centre, and City of Karratha, each weekly project will be facilitated by a favourite and familiar local creative.

At this time art + craft activities and creating, are an important and vital way to help process feelings of disconnection and isolation, and develop a sense of belonging around their family and community. The activities selected as part of this project will create a sense of mindfulness and calm as participants discover new ways to express their feeling during these uncertain times.

There are eight interconnected activities, which have been designed to engage, challenge and connectchildren and their families in understanding and processing a new way of living.

Video release: every Friday, starting from 1 May

Online episodes will be released weekly via the Juntion Co website for easy and ad free access to the videos.
