SLEEPING SUPER KIDS™ – Neurodivergence & Sleep
A practical, neuroinclusive workshop for parents, caregivers and professionals supporting children whose brains, bodies and sleep don’t always follow the rulebook.
Sleep can look very different for neurodivergent children, and traditional sleep advice doesn’t always account for sensory processing, anxiety, regulation, demand avoidance or individual developmental differences.
Join neuroinclusive sleep consultant and parent educator Chrissy Lacey from Sleepy Smalls Co for an interactive two-hour workshop exploring why sleep can be more complex for neurodivergent children and the practical adaptations that can make a difference.
Together we’ll explore:
- Sleep biology and the circadian rhythm
- Sensory needs and processing differences
- Over-connectivity and regulation
- Anxiety and reducing pressure around sleep
- Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)
- Realistic sleep expectations
- Adapting the sleep environment and bedtime approach
- Practical settling strategies, including bedtime fading, camping out, pop-ins and slow-paced retreat
- Rituals, visual supports and social stories
- Building an individualised sleep support toolkit
The workshop includes dedicated time for questions, discussion and shared problem-solving, with a focus on finding strategies that work for the individual child rather than trying to make the child fit a prescribed sleep method.
Suitable for parents, caregivers and professionals supporting neurodivergent children, including children with autism, ADHD, PDA profiles, anxiety, sensory differences or other neurodevelopmental needs. A formal diagnosis is not required.
Children are welcome to attend, however attendance is not required.
