Chief Executive Officer
Nintirri is looking for our next CEO, a leader who will help guide our organisation into its next chapter. We’re now seeking a leader who believes in community, collaboration, and positive change, and who wants to work alongside our amazing, passionate team and local stakeholders. If this sounds like you, or someone you know, we encourage you to apply. The CEO works closely with the Board to ensure the organisation's strategic vision is realised through strong governance, operational excellence and a culture of collaboration and integrity. Responsible for the overall leadership and management of Nintirri, the CEO provides strategic oversight across all areas of the organisation — including service delivery, financial performance, people and culture, stakeholder engagement and organisational sustainability. The CEO is supported by a small, capable leadership team including an Office Manager, Operations Manager (HR, finance and operations), a part-time offsite Finance Manager and a team of flexible business all-rounders who backfill across programs and leave. Together, this structure provides stability, continuity and operational depth across the organisation. What makes us different? As a leading community organisation in the Pilbara, Nintirri focuses on supporting local people, strengthening local communities and making sure everyone has access to the help they need. We work in the spaces where services are often missing or hard to reach — connecting people with support that can change lives across health, family, wellbeing and community connection. What makes us different is how we work. We put people first, listen deeply, and make sure our services and decisions are culturally safe and respectful. We partner with community rather than doing things to or for them. Our approach is built on trust, collaboration and doing what's right, even when it's hard. Nintirri lives by four values: Respect, Belonging, Honesty and Connection. These guide how we show up, how we treat each other and how we work with the community. What you will be doing? Work closely with the Board, staff, partners and community to set and deliver the strategic direction of Nintirri Centre Inc. Represent Nintirri with professionalism and warmth, living our values in every interaction. Lead, support and develop the organisation's leadership group and wider staff to build capability and confidence across the organisation. Work with the Board to ensure strong, transparent and best-practice governance. Make sure Nintirri has the people, funding and resources it needs to achieve its goals. Strengthen the long-term sustainability and resilience of the organisation through good planning, financial stewardship and continuous improvement. What we are looking for? Proven senior leadership experience (5+ years) in community, not-for-profit or government sectors. Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally in business, project management or a related field. The ability to recognise and articulate issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with a proven capacity to consult and negotiate effectively and sensitively in accordance with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols. A high level of interpersonal skills for networking, consulting and liaising at all levels. The ability to lead and build capacity within a multi-disciplinary team with confidence, honesty and commitment. Advanced written skills including a demonstrated ability to research information and write complex reports. Demonstrated understanding of community development. Demonstrated knowledge of finance, budgeting and financial analysis. Previous experience in attracting funding and sponsorship to an organisation. Why work with us? The housing package is exceptional. We provide a comfortable 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom home with a backyard at $50 per week - inclusive of utilities. Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum, in addition to your salary. Five weeks of annual leave to support rest and wellbeing. A fully maintained Nintirri vehicle for use within the Shire of Ashburton. Travel allowances up to 4x $840 per year to help you and your family stay connected. Half-price childcare, making family life easier and more affordable. Needs-based relocation support of up to $20,000 to support your move to the Pilbara. How to apply Please submit: A brief cover letter (no more than 2–3 pages) addressing the selection criteria and outlining why you are the best person for this role. A current resume including your contact details, education, previous work history and the names of at least two current referees. Applications close on 26 April 2026. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, and early applications are encouraged, as appointments may be made prior to the closing date.
