About the Organisation
The Nintirri Centre Inc is a not-for-profit community-based organisation located in Tom Price, that employs over 40 staff and provides core services within Tom Price and the wider Pilbara. These services include Early Childhood Education, Community Health and Wellbeing, Community Resource Centre, Supporting of the Karijini Experience, Tom Price Arts Hub, Family Domestic Violence Prevention, Playgroup, Community Op Shop and more.
About the Role
Early Years Networks can play an important role in connecting a community by working collaboratively to develop and implement initiatives, services and activities aimed at improving outcomes for young children and families.
As the Early Years Network Coordinator you will use your early years knowledge and experience to network and collaborate with stakeholders to provide opportunities to:
- improve communities for children and their families
- engage members to discuss emerging early years issues across their community and advocate solutions to decision makers
- gain insights and perspectives from community representatives to understand what may be influencing early childhood development
- explore the AEDC results together with other information to understand community strengths and areas for improvement in supporting children’s development
- foster a variety of short- and long-term community initiatives to improve local conditions for children and families
- strengthen community understanding about the importance of the early years
- promote early years’ initiatives to the community, for example protective behaviours and parenting workshops
- form smaller working groups of members to run the network’s activities and events as detailed in the action plan
- invite guest speakers and presenters to meetings to introduce or develop ideas, programs or topics relevant to the network
- offer professional support and advice across Early Years Networks.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant previous experience in a similar role
- Early years experience, this could be across various areas
- Proactive, enthusiastic, helpful and honest attitude
- Capacity to work autonomously whilst part of the Nintirri Centre team
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills across a diverse range of clients
- Excellent organisational skills, with the capacity to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks in a busy environment
