About the Organisation

The Nintirri Centre Inc is a not-for-profit community-based organisation located in Tom Price, that employs over 50 staff and provides core services within Tom Price and the wider Pilbara. These services include Early Childhood Education, Community Health and Wellbeing, Community Resource Centre, Supporting of the Karijini Experience, Tom Price Arts Hub, Family Domestic Violence Prevention, Playgroup, Community Op Shop, supporting the administration functions of the Pilbara Inland Chamber of Commerce (PICCI) and more.

About the role

The Community Resource Centre (CRC) Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management of the Tom Price Community Resource Centre, driving and facilitating community interaction, events and services. This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for the growth of this service and make a real difference in our community. In this role you will;

  • Responsibility 1 – Community Resource Centre OperationsThis includes:
    • Oversee the development and promotion of CRC services, such as the professional office space for hire, public access to computers/internet/videoconferencing and professional and business development activities.
    • Equipment hires and delivery of community events such as Picnic Days, Rio Tinto Christmas Party, Karijini Experience and more.
    • Manage the day-to-day operation of the CRC in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
    • Manage share house accommodation bookings for essential service providers and its maintenance.
    • Project manage the requirements of the state-wide network and regional initiatives as deemed appropriate to achieve expected outcomes of the CRC service to its community.
    • Develop relationships with key stakeholders that facilitate connection, collaboration, and partnerships.
    • Secretarial function of the Pilbara Inland Chamber of Commerce, including marketing, weekly newsletter, preparation of minutes and agendas, organising of networking events and workshops.
    • Work closely with users to ensure a mutual understanding of their needs and requirements whilst building and maintaining a professional rapport.
    • Complete annual budgets, work plans and contribute to the organisation’s strategic planning processes.
    • Fulfill reporting requirements to the CEO, Management Board, and funding bodies.
    • Supporting the operations and delivery of the Karijini Experience.

    Key Performance Indicators – Number of funding grants secured, annual intake, activity and service support

    Responsibility 2 – Staff

    This includes:

    • Assist with the orientation of new staff.
    • Be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of staff performing duties related to the group/s for which the position is directly responsible.
    • Provide leadership and encourage staff involved in the service to contribute to the planning and implementation of the service’s programs.
    • Work cooperatively with Nintirri Centre Inc and all staff to ensure the service operates in a safe work environment and that staff members follow safe work practices.
    • Share housekeeping tasks of preparation, packing, hygiene, and safety related to the program, with other staff.
    • Hold or attend regular staff meetings, within paid time, to facilitate effective communication, internal staff development and discussion on management and programming for the service.
    • Participate in an annual performance development review process.
    • Recruitment of staff when required, this includes preparing the job advertisements, interview process and reference checks.
    • Overseeing the recruitment of creche workers to ensure our creche services run efficiently.

    Key Performance Indicators – Effective collaboration with Nintirri Centre Inc staff, WHS procedures followed.

    Responsibility 3 – State-Wide Network Initiatives

    This includes:

    • Project manage the requirements of the State-Wide Network and Regional Initiatives as deemed appropriate to achieve expected outcomes of the CRC service to its community.

    Key Performance Indicator – Utilisation of the service

    Responsibility 4 – Strengthen and build relationships with key stakeholders.

    This includes:

    • Encourage growth and expansion of activities and services by actively promoting awareness of community services and activities available through the Centre.
    • Continually devise and carry through with pro-active engagement with potential stakeholders.

     Key Performance Indicator – Level of stakeholder engagement

    Responsibility 5 – Promotion and marketing

    This includes:

    • Promote awareness of this service to other organisations and individuals in the community.
    • Utilise the opportunity to create connections and collaborations that may be beneficial to other efforts of the organisation.
    • Work closely with users to ensure a mutual understanding of their needs and requirements whilst building and maintaining a professional rapport.
    • Each service area is responsible for their marketing and communications, including preparing flyers, promoting on social media and the website.

    Key Performance Indicator – Number of service users

    Responsibility 6 – to the Whole Organisation

    This includes:

    • Uphold organisational values.
    • Understand and comply with policies, procedures and guidelines including relevant Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
    • Maintain a professional approach to work, which reflects the Centre’s philosophy, policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality in all aspects of the Centre’s operation.
    • Contribute to a sustainable, effective, professional and positive team environment by working respectfully, collaboratively and creatively within the team and organisation at all times to sustain respectful, positive, fair and empowering relationships.
    • Maintain a sound understanding of Nintirri Centre Inc.’s role within the community and the level of services that it delivers across all six areas.
    • Identify and utilise opportunities to create connections and collaborations that may be beneficial to other efforts of the organisation.

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant previous experience in a similar role
  • Community development and or/business development experience
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, helpful and honest attitude
  • Capacity to work autonomously whilst part of the Nintirri Centre management team
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills across a diverse range of clients
  • Excellent organisations skills, with the capacity to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks in a busy environment
  • Working with Children Check (or be able to obtain these).
  • A current ‘C’ class driver’s license
  • Up-to date covid 19 vaccinations

  • Salary Packaging up to $15,899 p/a
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
